After you cut out two rectangular pieces of your fabric measured eight inches by six inches, use the wider end, that is the 8 inches edge, and fold one inch of the fabric from the top, all the way to opposite end (like an envelope flap). This is where the zip will be fitted. Do this for both rectangular pieces, and then flip it over (on the wrong side of the fabric to complete work within the pouch), and place against the folded sections, your zip. Sew these 1 inch flaps over the zip top, all the way to the ends. Using your two loose ends, sew them up only where the fabric halves meet, and not all the way through. Then lift and keep it titled on one side, and pinch the opening edges out so that the fabric sticks out like little horns. Do this on all four sides and pin them down to keep these jutting out fabric horns stiff. Then sew these according to how the fabric takes shape once you've pinched them in that outward fashion. You'll have a bag that is inside out, with the zip facing you. Turn it out properly to its right side, and whatever work you've done will fall towards the inside of the pouch, leaving you with a completed makeup holder as a result.

A makeup brush holder is a great way of keeping all your important brushes together in on place. Just make sure you put it in a different compartment so that you don't have to sift through your makeup pouch to look for the right brush, if you want to also put your makeup into it as well. Binding these together or putting these in one separate pouch, away from your makeup is a smarter option. Keep it stylish.
