Where can I find MAC brushes!?
I love MAC's brushes, but I'm afraid that they are much too expensive for my tastes. Does anyone know where I can find authentic MAC eyeshadow brushes for cheaper? Also, what brushes do you recommend? I like brushes with soft-ish bristles that last a long time. I also like it when they are easy-ish to clean (don't fall apart when you try to clean them!) Thanks in advance!
Brushes that have natural hair rather synthetic hair will be better when it comes to washing them, since they're less likely to fall apart. However they do tend to be a bit more expensive. Have a look on eBay, and make sure you select the 'buy new' bit, since you don't want brushes that someone else has used.
Chanel and Nars do really nice brushes if you're looking for eye ones and blusher ones. Otherwise most of the 'house' brand foundation brushes are pretty good and don't normally fall apart. I use Lancome ones, but I know that you can get very similar ones from Mac. I would avoid Benefit ones though - really didn't like them!!!
You might already know this, but you should wash your brushes once a week with either a light cleanser or shampoo, and water. Then leave them to dry out over night setting out the bristles so they are all facing the right direction to avoid them going stray. Also, Estee Lauder, Bobbie Brown and Mac all do their own brush cleaner so you can clean them quickly after every use then wash them once a week as well. That is what I do to avoid them getting clogged up.
