This moisturizer is great. I love the light lemony scent, the fact that it has spf and it just soaks into my skin.

I too wanted to try this “hope in a jar” craze, but there’s no way I would get a moisturizer without spf. When I tried this one, the oily sunscreen components separated in days and would not mix back with the product. It’s horrible and caused my skin to break out. Now I’m back to a much better moisturizer, Oil of Olay spf 15 for oily/combination skin. It’s incredible and protective, and contains zinc oxide which is clinically proven (search PubMed for evidence) to be a far better sunblock than many of the “organic” compounds included in proprietary sunscreens.

I have used the regular Hope in a Jar for years and thought I would give the one with SPF a try. I absolutely love it. There is just enough tint for some coverage. Although the consistency is different from the regular Hope, I don’t find it to be greasy at all and you don’t have to use very much of the product.

I have been using this product for over a year. I have very light, delicate skin and really dislike anything greasy or heavy. Hope in a Jar (EITHER formulation) is wonderful – light, non greasy, causes no blemishes. I am really surprised by the negative reviews! I am in my 60′s and have tried just about everything on the market – and for the price this product is uncomparable.

I tried Hope in a Jar for sensitive skin and absolutely loved it. I found it far superior to more costly products.

Unfortunately, the local Sephora was out of the sensitive skin line the last time I was in, so I picked up the Hope in a Jar for all skin types. It was okay. Fine. Serviceable, but nothing more and in my opinion, not worth the price tag.

With summer coming up, I decided to give the line a final shot since I needed a moisturizer with sunscreen. Even given how disappointed I was in the Hope in a Jar for All Skin Types, I wasn’t prepared for how terrible I found the spf 20 version. Unlike other moisturizers containing with spf, this one made my eyes burn like crazy. And the consistency … yuck! It was like trying to rub poached egg into my skin. The moisturizer was this gelatinous lump that sat in the jar and was difficult to scoop out and more difficult to try and rub in. And then it was greasy.

If you’re looking for a moisturizer with spf, I recommend you look elsewhere.
