The B.o. (bismuth Oxychloride) in Mineral Makeup!

Some cosmetic companies will use this in their cosmetics because it is a very cheap filler. Bismuth does have binding qualities, so the makeup will hold to your skin better, however there are other products that are just as good at sticking to your skin, and are better for your skin. Other than being a cheap filler, it is highly reflective, which is something companies want, because refraction will camouflage fine lines, wrinkles and discolorations. If you use a brand with B.O. you will see a shiny or shimmery, yet heavy look. That's the bismuth oxychloride.

B.O. is a thick, heavy mineral, which makes it difficult for many people to wear. It has to be packed into your pores (thus the buffing application) otherwise it can slide off the wearers' face. The heaviness can and usually does result in clogged pores or irritated skin. B.O. often feels silky and fine between the fingers. Mineral makeup companies that don't use it have a lighter feeling makeup that will blend into the skin better and with less effort (such as SMM Cosmetics).

After using Mineral Makeup, many women experience noticable itching when they sweat. Generally this is from the chemical composition in B.O. So, if you find you're experiencing some problems with your current mineral makeup and it contains B.O., the fix could be as simple as switching to a brand that doesn't use B.O. One look that is universally flattering, a look that makes older women look younger, which makes younger women look prettier, is the barely there, no makeup look. At least it appears as if you aren't using any makeup. As if you were born with that radiant glow.

Eyes are sparkly. Lips and cheeks are rosy. Skin looks gorgeous. Wait a minute, is she wearing makeup. Can't really tell. Now that's the kind of reaction you want from people who look your way.

The idea is to wear makeup that is barely there. Apply only what you need and nothing more. Choose your colors carefully. The trick is in the color and texture of what you use on your face and how you apply your makeup.

If you have good skin, you do not even need a makeup foundation. All you need is a moisturizer with SPF and a light dusting of translucent powder for your base.

If your skin is uneven, a tinted moisturizer should help even it up yet let your skin show through so you don't look made up.

If you have pimples, calm them down first with ice. Then apply a touch of concealer to hide them. One with a greenish tinge would neutralize the redness of these angry pimples.

If you have panda eyes, lie down, close your eyes and put a slice of raw potato over each eye. Rest for ten minutes with the potatos on your eyes and let the stuff in the potatos lighten your dark circles. Then apply concealer only on the dark circles. A yellow tinged concealer would neutralize the dark circles more effectively.

For your cheeks, if your skin is oily, then you need a powder blusher. Get a large powder brush to pick up the color. Pat the brush to dust off the excess. Then run the brush lightly over your cheeks, forehead, chin and nose to give your face that radiant glow.

If you have normal or dry skin, use a cream blush. With your finger tips, dab a tiny dot of cream blush on the apples of your cheeks and blend in thoroughly for that rosy flush.

You don't need much eye makeup. Overdone eyes are aging. You just need two neutral shades. Maybe a light peach or beige or warm brown, depending on your skin tone. And a dark brown for contouring and lining your eyes with. Use an eyeshadow brush to apply the lighter shade over your eyelids. Then line your eyes with an eyeliner brush, using the dark eyeshadow.
Finish off with a coat of black or brown mascara. Black looks great on olive or darker skin and on brunettes while brown looks more natural on blondes.

Pick a lipstick in a rosy hue a few shades darker or brighter than your natural lip color. Use a lip brush to paint that lipstick on your lips.

If you want lip gloss, get vaseline. Put a dab of vaseline on the back of your clean, dry hand. Pick up some lipstick with your lip brush and mix that with the vaseline for that rosy tint. Apply the mixture on your lips.

Permanent makeup is where tattooing is used in place of traditional makeup to enhance the look of someone's eyes, lips, eyebrows, and to disguise scars. The more common cosmetic uses that I've witnessed are eyelining and filling in the eyebrows (eyebrow shaping). Instead of lining the eyes, a dark pigment (black or brown) is tattooed onto the eyelids, which is convenient for someone who isn't skilled enough to line their eyes to their satisfaction. The permanent eyeliner will remain in place for years to come, and that eliminates any frustration you've experienced during the makeup application process.

Permanent makeup used to create eyebrows is popular for those who have extremely thin eyebrows, or have lost their brow hairs due to alopecia. Instead of using makeup to draw or create eyebrows, the desired design is tattooed onto the face using natural pigment, and will last for a significantly long time. Another method used for the lips involve lip lining or coloring. During this process, color is permanently placed along the border of the lips to appear as natural as any lip liner, and in the color you choose. Colored pigment can also be placed on top of the lips to appear as a matte lipstick in whatever shade suits you best. Also, if you suffer from facial scarring, then this approach will work well for you. It will disguise the scar to give you a more natural appearance.

Side effects of getting permanent makeup can include swelling of the skin, keloids, or some type of infection, although those cases are rare. It is possible that color will fade overtime, so it is necessary for you to know that touchups may be required at least three years later. It is also important for you to consider the complexity of the removal process. Because it is a tattoo, the typical removal methods are Intense Pulsed Light Therapy, laser removal, and dermabrasion. These methods can be quite painful, and you will have to attend at least a few sessions in order to remove the pigment completely. Another option, which is least effective, is a tattoo removal cream. It has received mixed reviews, so it's possible that it may not completely remove a tattoo.

It is extremely important for you to get referrals before engaging in this process, and view the service provider's portfolio and history. I would even go the extra mile and call a few of their past clients. The reason I feel this is important is because your appearance will become permanently altered, and you have to live with the results, whether they are good or bad. I've seen results that were flawless, and I've also met women who were not satisfied with the work they received and became upset as a result.

I myself considered this idea years ago, until another makeup artist persuaded me not to. He pointed out the fact that makeup techniques (and looks) are constantly evolving, and that it would not be in my best interest to get "stuck" with a look that may go out of style in the next few years. I like to create different looks, and I usually stay on top of the current trends. His honest reasoning meant a lot to me, but your situation may be different. However, it is something to consider. If you are highly concerned with the convenience of not having to reapply makeup, and have a more laid-back approach to the makeup application process, then permanent cosmetics will work well for you.

Most people don't take care of their skin the way they should. The good news is that it is never too late to start using natural cosmetics to rejuvenate tired looking skin. This is becuase natural cosmetics contain nutritional ingredients that the skin desperately needs. It is like food for the skin! Synthetic cosmetics can't do this. It is amazing how quickly-high quality, natural cosmetics can change the appearance of fine lines and rough skin.

Step 1 Exfoliate

Did you know that there are dead skin cells on your face clogging your pores and making your skin feel rough? These dead skin cells should be removed with an exfoliator. Exfoliating means-you are gently removing them with a facial scrub that contains grit. This is important, because it not only helps your skin renew itself, it also makes it look better. You are basically laying a foundation for any cosmetics that you will be applying over this smooth surface. You should exfoliate every week, twice if your skin is not super-sensitive. If you have super-sensitive skin, exfoliate every two weeks. Always wet the face first before applying a scrub. Use gentle circular motions. It is important to not scrub too hard or too much. Rinse and then pat dry. But don't forget to be gentle.

Step 2 Cleanse

Soap can dry out the skin and should not be used on the face. This is because it makes the skin feel tight and dry. Dryness is the first indication that a soap or cleanser is too harsh. Instead, use a gentle, natural cleanser. They contain natural ingredients that rejuvenate and calm the skin. Avoid using wash cloths, because laundry machines do not completely rinse out all laundry detergents and fabric softeners. These residual harsh chemicals, even in the smallest amounts, can destroy your skin. Remember, the skin around the eyes is thin and delicate, so no tugging.

Question: Are sudsy cleansers better for oily skin, creamy for dry? No, sudsy cleansers are detrimental to your skin, because Sodium laureth sulfate, or sodium lauryl ether sulfate (SLES), are much too harsh for the skin and often cause dryness, redness, scaling, itching, etc.

Step 3 Moisturize

After scrubbing and cleansing-it is important to put natural moisture back into your skin to keep it looking plumped and supple. Moisturize the first thing in the morning and before you go to sleep. Always give your skin a few minutes to absorb the moisturizer before applying makeup. Especially blushes or powders, because if you don't, they will streak or look mottled. The eye area is sensitive, the skin is thinner and requires a different kind of moisturizer. You should only use creams that are meant for the eyes. Make sure to apply them carefully, not too close to the lashes. You don't want the lashes to drag any of your cream into the eyes. This can cause stinging and puffiness. If you do have dry skin, night cream can be beneficial. Why? Because, night creams tend to contain a richer concentration of oils. When selecting a cosmetic product, read the label and make sure all of the ingredients are natural. Not all natural cosmetics are truly 100% pure.

Step 4 Makeup

Question: Are expensive makeup brushes any better than cheap ones? The most expensive brushes you can buy are the cheap ones. The bristles come out on your face, and they just don't last. You will end up replacing them often. If you can afford it, invest in some high quality brushes. You will only need a few. And good brushes will allow you to use your less expensive makeup more effectively. They will also give you the best end result. This is what the makeup actually looks like when it is applied to your skin. The one thing women want to achieve is a more natural look. Even if you are wearing a lot of makeup, you want it to look natural. But if your brushes are hard and scratchy-then the end result will appear hard and scratchy.

Step 5 Apply Makeup: Eyes

If your eyes are deep set it is not necessary to apply a lot of eye shadow-a light color on the brow is all you need since the structure is already there. A lot of mascara and a very thin eyeliner will complete the look. Along with structure for deep-set eyes there is also a natural shadow. So colors like pink, purple and orange are good to brighten the eyes. Individuals with wide eyes will look great with a smoky neutral tone. Heavier liner will give dimension to the eyes. If you have smaller eyes, you may build a crease to accentuate the eyelid. Lastly, for big eyes, use a lot of eyeliner on both the inner and outer eye. If you are blessed with big beautiful eyes, don't use shadow and if you must use it, apply very lightly.

Step 6 Apply Makeup: Cheeks

For individuals with high cheekbones, place the blush on the back section of the cheek in a subtle way closer to the ear and along the jaw line. For those with round faces use more blush in order to create a cheekbone. If your face has a long structure- apply the blush very subtly. Too much blush will have individuals with a long face looking like your chin is elongated.

Step 7 Apply Makeup: Lips

If you have thin lips and want to make them appear fuller, use a lip liner followed by a lighter color. For those of you who want to tone down lips, use a lot of lip liner and dark colors such as a deep burgundy or brown.

Experimenting with natural cosmetics and makeup can be a lot of fun. The best way to achieve your greatest look is practice. There is nothing wrong with trying a new natural cosmetic brand and seeing if it works better for you. Natural cosmetics certainly are healthier for your skin.

Step By Step Smokey Eye Makeup (easily)

• Blend the pencil with a brush with brown shadow on it (or a chocolate tone that you like)

• Blend all the way to the bone, leaving no lines at all.

Cheeks: Blushing is in fashion!

If you make up your lips in red tones, remember to be very careful in the corners of the mouth. Follow these 3 makeup tips:

Apply a neutral toned pencil around the lips and blend to erase the natural lip line (the trick is to blend well).
Make up the lips with a red pencil, and inside the lips as well so that when the lipstick fades, you won’t see a dark line.

As superficial as some may view makeup, I’ve never met a woman who didn’t respond positively when her exterior was finessed. When our spirits sore, the inner beauty that expresses itself visually through us is untouchable. But sometimes we need a little help from outside to make that connection inwardly. One feeds the other. So go inside, but when you come out, don’t forget about your exterior window treatments.

Coloring your exterior:

That is the hundred-dollar question. What eye shadow color, how many colors, and where do I put them? Believe it or not less is sometimes more in this situation. More is more when it comes to winning the lottery, but too much makeup can detract from the features and instead of enhancing for romancing, the face looks like it was high jacked by a group of gay terrorists.

If you have mastered your own eyes with a simple, but effective eye design, then you are licensed to build on that premise and add more colors hence increasing dimension. But know the basics before you compete with “that girl” that’s sits at the next cubical.

One version of a basic, but beautiful eye needs two colors, one light and one dark for contrast. The darkest color usually takes the focus and attention of the eye treatment, therefore placement is everything. Most of us are privy to the fact that if you have slightly wide set eyes (Oprah) then you should focus the darkest color towards the middle and inner corner of your eyes.

If you are close set (Babs) then go in the other direction, softly putting emphasis on the outer corners. If I’m boring you I do apologies. So here are some universal, no brainer recipes that look good on most of us. Wide set girls please pass first diagram and go to 2A …Thank you.

Eye Make-up Technique 1A - Close set gals, and most of their pals - general population:
(The simplicity with this treatment works correctively with close-set bombshells or balanced bells. With a fresh lid and shading on the outer corner, the darker shading will add incredible dimension to the lids with a bit of lift and extension at the same time.)

Apply an off white, cream, or a pale milky pink to ¾ of your upper eyelid starting at the inner corner. Take the second darker color, and with a small brush shade the outer lid with your chin slightly lifted in the mirror (let them make their own breakfast). Shade from the outer corner inwardly. And for God sakes, line the top eyelid with some eyeliner liner to finish it!

EYELINER SEGWAY:

Do's

Do line just the top lash line.

Do line both top and bottom lash line.

Dont's

Don’t line just the bottom lash line - it drags the eye down, looks bottom heavy, and has the look of the top ten worst music videos of 1982.

Eye Make-up Technique 2A - Wide set wonders or slightly turned down / droopy eyes:
(This little classic design keeps the viewer focused at the center of your peepers, where the most flattering focal point of your eyes reside)

Apply a light to medium light, fresh color on you entire top lid. With a slightly fluffy, medium size crease brush, initiate the second, darker color in the middle of the eye socket. Rock the brush back and forth, creating a half moon in the crease area, slightly approaching the inner corner. Although the darkest color is traveling towards the inner corner, it must be delicate and tapered as it arrives. The finished eye contour must look centered detracting from the “ outward problem”.

Shopping for Colors

With regards to what colors to choose, the highlight colors mentioned early are neutral enough due to the fact that they are highlighters. My only caution is if you have pink lids because of veining or skin sensitivity, stay away from pink highlight shadows.

When choosing a dark contrasting color, there are many approaches. Here is one.

Choose an accent color that is opposite of your own eye color. The two colors side by side (your natural eye color and the eye shadow) intensify each other instead of competing. The opposite color doesn’t necessarily mean you work with it in its purest form. If you have blue eyes, I’m not suggesting you plaster your eyelids with pumpkin orange. You could choose a dynamic gray that has a breath of orange in it. Recognize the difference between classic shades (straight colors) and contemporary shades that contains nuances of a second supporting color whispering through.

Blue eyes: Try a “ browny orange “ the amount of orange may be extremely subtle but effective in popping those babies.

Hazel green eyes: Perhaps a pimento brown – this contains a subtle red undertone that is cooled & tamed by the dominating brown.

Hazel green eyes with yellow flex will dance when accompanied by grays & taupes that have a soft violet support.

Brown eyes: What shade of brown are you winking with? Do you see yellow brown? A speckle of green?

Once you determine the other supporting color that makes up the brown in your iris, grab the color wheel and go shopping. At the very least take this concept to the boutique or makeup studio with your next visit. Remember, there is always a little magic when opposition works harmoniously.

The relationship between makeup and aging tends to be a bit of a grey area. Often, many questions arise concerning this topic, though there aren’t a lot substantial answers. Most of the debates revolving around makeup and aging don’t seem to have any factual basis. This ambiguity has a lot to do with what aging itself actually means.

Aging occurs due to a lack of collagen and elastin. These two things help to hold skin together while ensuring that it is smooth, tight, strong and supple. Collagen and elastin also prevent the skin from loosening by maintaining the skin structure. This process prevents wrinkles and sagging from occurring.

The reason why so many different skin experts negatively equate makeup with aging is solely based upon the ingredients that makeup is composed of. There have been allegations that some of the ingredients inside certain makeup products contain toxins, which might negatively affect collagen and hence make the aging process faster.

Some types of makeup can clog pores causing a large amount of build-up. This build-up leads to acne and many other skin conditions. However, most of the beauty products on the market these days are non-comedogenic, which means that shouldn’t block your pores. Still, it is important to read all labels, understand all ingredients, and choose only those products that are all-natural.

Some experts also believe that makeup effectively blocks the sun. These claims are based on the premise that exposure to the sun (at least 15 minutes) is required in order to maintain healthy skin. While there is some truth behind the assumption that Vitamin D is necessary for the skin (the sun is an excellent source of Vitamin D), it has also been proven that more than 15 minutes of sun exposure can lead to cancer.

There have also been a lot of allegations that anti-aging cosmetic products pose threats to the skin. Claims have been made that these anti aging skin care products actually increase the rate of aging because of the toxic ingredients present in them. While this might be true of some products that are composed of chemicals, natural products do not contain any harmful ingredients.

Most of the arguments revolving around aging, anti aging and makeup are based on assumption-related risks. The important thing to remember is to wash your face with a high-quality product daily in order to avoid any clogged pores or build-up. Of course, this process is only as good as the cleansers that you choose, so make sure to select quality products.

Presently, there is no conclusive evidence that points towards makeup as the sole cause of making skin age faster. Since there is no concrete evidence either way, it is suggested that you look towards natural solutions for various skin care requirements.

Skin enhancement, anti aging products, and general skin cleaners should all be natural. Various natural applications (nutrition, topical, and diet-wise) all are known to be very most effective ways of ensuring young, beautiful, and healthy looking skin.

There are a variety of makeup brushes currently on the market. Ebay is one of the best places to find a great makeup brush set, or individual brush. I suggest investing in good makeup brushes. Good brushes last many, many years and help you apply your makeup like a pro. My favorite brush set is the Liana Beauty 7 piece Brush Set, this set comes with a combination of synthetic and natural hairbrushes, they are extremely high quality and come with a chic case, and my favorite Liana brush is their kabuki. If you don't want to purchase a full set of brushes yet, a kabuki brush is an extremely popular brush for applying mineral makeup foundation.

The Motion

Due to the loose powder texture of mineral make-up, it may be tempting to just dab it on like you would with loose powder, but don't! Mineral make-up is much less translucent than loose powder and is meant to be worn as foundation, so you need to apply it sparingly and build it in stages to achieve the ideal look.

Eyeliners and Eye shadows

Though eye shadow applications may change with the seasons and the current fashions, the best way to accentuate you eyes is to use 3 different colors applied to your lid. What we suggest is to use 3 complimentary eye shadow colors of the same basic color. Softly brush the lightest color over your entire lid from your lashes up until you reach the brow bone. Then take the darker color and line your eyes using a wet brush. You can take a soft dry eye shadow brush and create a sideways “V” by gently brushing along the eyeliner from the inner part of your eye to the outer, and turning and going back towards the inner part of your eye except you follow the crease of your eye instead. This not only smudges the harsh line of the eyeliner but also gives your eye some depth. Then pick up your middle color and gently brush that over the lower lid of your eye.

Who needs a face full of makeup? Not you! The key to looking your best is to pick one feature to highlight, and then use colors and formulas sheer enough to let your naturally gorgeous self shine through. Beautiful Hands and Nails - People are rarely known far and wide for having pretty hands, but ugly hands get noticed by everyone. To soften hands or feet, rub liberally with petroleum jelly, put on a pair of gloves or socks and wear overnight. Use a nail buffer to shine nails between manicures. .Fingernails should be trimmed often to promote the best possible nail condition. For men, nails should not be much longer than the fingertip. Women may keep their nails longer but they should still trim them on a routine basis so as to keep their nails healthy while they are growing. Individuals who maintain their nails to promote nutritious nails should use nail trimming tools and not pick or pull at the nails to make them shorter.

Applying Lipstick- To facilitate the task of lipstick application to you and pretty finished, start by eliminating the small skins being able to level on the lips. Applying lip liner can be difficult. Start at the center of your upper lip, draw a line to each outer corner, following the edge of your natural lip line. If you go outside from the natural lip line, use a damp Q-Tip to blot out the unwanted color and reapply. Lipstick is to load your lipstick brush with color and brush inwards from the corners of your mouth. To give your lips the Cupid’s bow shape, lay the brush flat to paint a 'V' shape or curve. Apply a lip base, like Cargo Lip Base, prior to your lip makeup application. This will condition your lips and prep them for color.

If you are wearing lipstick, use a lip liner first and then fill in with the same liner.

Hair Color-Most people can successfully color their hair at home but there are exceptions. You should get a professional color job if your hair is in poor condition - coloring dry damaged hair at home can result in uneven color. Also, if your hair has different shades and you want one even tone, a hairdresser can apply different formulas to the different areas. Finally, it's best to leave it to the experts if you want to make a drastic change to your hair color, say dark brown to platinum blonde, or you want special color effects or highlights.

3. Appropriate makeup-Wear makeup that is appropriate for the occasion. If you are going to the beach you shouldn't wear the same or as much makeup as you would if you were going dancing. Also, when you are in daylight your makeup should be lighter than when you are out for the evening. start with foundation, add mascara, blush or lipstick. If you are not used to wearing makeup, using a lot at first may be a little too much for you, so start slowly.
